Application Search
The Application Search page allows you to search for existing Airworthiness applications by a variety of criteria. You access this page by clicking Search on the top level menu.
At the top of the FAA header, Help, User Guide, and References links are displayed in the right corner along with a Signout link. The Help link opens page-specific help for the current page. The User Guide link opens the Airworthiness Certification Applicant User Guide, which is the secondary resource for Airworthiness Certification Applicant Portal application user procedures and reference information. The References link opens a page allowing you to access FAA reference data relevant to Airworthiness Certification. The Signout link logs you out of the application and takes you to the System Use Notice. At the bottom of the FAA header, your name displays right justified along with a Person icon (
); clicking the icon displays a pop-up screen with a list of the roles assigned to you.
The title bar showing the application name, "Airworthiness Certification (AWC) - Applicant Portal," displays at the top of the page below the standard FAA page header. The Airworthiness Certification application navigation top-level menu bar displays just below the title bar and contains the links that provide access to the Airworthiness Certification commands, or functions: My AWC, Search, Reports and My Profile.
Search for Airworthiness Application(s):
To search for an existing Airworthiness application, follow the steps below. You must enter at least one criterion to conduct a search. The more criteria entered, the narrower the search.
- To search for an application by the Aircraft N Number, enter at least the first three characters of the aircraft registration number in the Aircraft N-Number field. The system displays a list of registration numbers starting with the characters entered. Select the appropriate registration number from the list.
- To search for an application by the application number, enter at least the first three characters of the application number in the Application Number field. The system displays a list of application numbers starting with the characters entered. Select the appropriate application number from the list.
- To search for an application by the aircraft make, enter at least the first three characters of the aircraft make in the Aircraft Make field. The system displays a list of aircraft makes starting with the characters entered. Select the appropriate aircraft make from the list.
- To search for an application by the aircraft model, enter at least the first three characters of the aircraft model in the Aircraft Model field. The system displays a list of aircraft models starting with the characters entered. Select the appropriate aircraft model from the list.
- To search for an application by the engine make, enter at least the first three characters of the engine make in the Engine Make field. The system displays a list of engine makes starting with the characters entered. Select the appropriate engine make from the list.
- To search for an application by the engine model, enter at least the first three characters of the engine model in the Engine Model field. The system displays a list of engine models starting with the characters entered. Select the appropriate engine model from the list.
- 7. To search for an application by Aircraft serial number, enter at least the first three characters of the serial number in the Aircraft Serial Number field. The system displays a list of Serial Number starting with the characters entered. Select the appropriate Serial Number from the list
- To search for an application by the application type, select the appropriate application type from the Application Type drop-down list. The Application Type drop-down list has the following choices:
- Amended Certificate
- Multiple Certificates
- New Application
- Replacement Certificate
- SFA - Update Blanket Authorization
- Special Flight Authorization - New
- Special Flight Permit
- To search for an application by the approval type, select the appropriate approval type from the Approval Type drop-down list. The Approval Type drop-down list has the following choices:
- To search for an application by the owner's name, enter at least the first three characters of the owner's last name in the Owner Name field. The system displays a list of owners whose last name start with the characters entered. Select the appropriate owner from the list.
- To search for an application by the applicant's name, enter at least the first three characters of the applicant's last name in the Applicant Name field. The system displays a list of applicants whose last name start with the characters entered. Select the appropriate applicant from the list.
- To search for an application by the application status, select the appropriate status from the Application Status drop-down list. The Application Status drop-down list has the following choices:
- Canceled
- Closed
- Inactive
- Open
- Suspend
- Withdraw
- To search for an application by an assigned designee, enter the first 3 characters of the designee number in the Designee field. The system displays a list of designees whose last names start with the characters entered. Select the appropriate designee from the list.
- To search for an application by the application creation date, enter a range of application creation dates in the From and To fields for the Application Date either manually or using the calendar widget.
- To search for an application by the application close date, enter a range of application close dates in the From and To fields for the Application Close Date either manually or using the calendar widget.
- To search for an application by the date on which it became inactive, enter the range of application inactive dates in the From and To fields for the Application Inactive Date either manually or using the calendar widget.

When you have finished entering all your criteria for the search, click Search. The Search results displays in the Application Search data grid. Click Reset before clicking save to clear all entries.
Working with the Application Search Results data grid
The Application Search Results data grid displays those applications that met the search criteria entered. The column heading row displays the descriptive text for the column contents. For detailed information for working with the data grid functions; see Working with Data Grids.
By default, the columns in the Application Results data grid are displayed in the following order.
- The first column, Application Number, displays the hyperlinked number assigned to the application. Click the hyperlink to go to the first page of the application record.
- The second column, Aircraft N-Number, displays the N-Number assigned to the aircraft.
- The third column, Application Type, displays the type of application.
- The fourth column, Application Status, displays the status of the application
- The fifth column, Application Date, displays the dtate the application was created.
Click the arrows (

) next to the Application Number sub-header to expand or collapse any record in the grid.
